p0tter Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 What is the highest mhz reached with the VX/gold series? Ive been thinking of getting OCZ 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 500 (PC 4000) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227206 or OCZ Gold Revision 2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 500 (PC 4000) Gold Layered Copper Heatspreader http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820146845 Ive noticed that the gold has like 3 revisions. And that the vx is all together different. Anyone know the differences ?
RyderOCZ Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Hi Wangerin, Are you planning on using the VX in the board in your Sig? the 250GB? The VX is High Voltage loving memory...and needs it to perform well. With the PC3200 VX at 3.2V you would probably see 200-210 at 2-2-2-x timings and maybe 230-250 (wide range I know but will depend on CPU, etc) with 2-3-2-x timings. The PC4000VX should get you to 230ish with 2-2-2-x at 3.2V and 250 with 2-3-2-x. The PC4000 Gold Rev 2 should run 250 2.5-3-3-8 with 2.8V and probably you could see 260-270ish at the same timings and voltages. Hope that helps
p0tter Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Cool, I would probably use this board with a modded bios and adjusting the psu rails. Thinking of getting a 3700 claw/hammer so I dont have to run an insane htt as i am now
Grov Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Sounds good, but Mushin Redline pc4000 performs better.
