Goone Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I used to have a 3200 venice running with DFI-4 ultra and my idle temp was 32c and load at 54 1.6v , just swapped processor to 3700sd and idle temp is 39c and 62 load at 1.6v. I have thermalright xp-120 with panalfo 120x38 fan. Does that sound right? Is the SD core that much hotter than venice? Do I need to re-do my hard drive. Also I had reseated my heatsink like 3 times paste is Artic silver 5.
rise4310 Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 sounds high to me. my 3700+ at 1.54v loads at 52c with a 7000cu. idle is low 30's.
rise4310 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 any other sandy users want to post some temps? i did a search but it doesn't seem to be much info. another forum is claiming under 60c is fine but i'm a bit concerned at 52ish. Edimonk Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 My SD gets about 34c idle and 42c load with a XP90 and Delta at medium speeds. That's with it at daily speeds and room temps of around 28c or so. At 25c room temps and at benching speeds idle is around 34c and 45c load. Volts are set at 1.45 for daily and 1.525 for benching. MaKo Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Those temps seem very high to me. See mine in my sig.
rise4310 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 i'm wondering if i should get the xp-90 now. i thought the 7000cu was doing a good job but i don't like the load temp @ 52. i use 1.54v set but bios reads it at 1.52 so i'm still not clear if that means the chip is getting 1.54 or 1.52. how do you guys report your volts, whats set or what it reads in bios? edit-i started messing around with cool n quiet but i don't know if i should. it seems to force auto (1.4v) in the bios and the spec vid is the only thing i can control. i know my oc was good at 1.52 even 1.5v but there isn't a way to set it with cool n quiet as it has to be on auto(1.4v) and then change the special. pershoot Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 sd's run hot. on water (not really optimised wc system), summer, ~50c load w./ 1.6-1.62. idle is ~28-30c.
HoUnD Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Every SD or any other chip will run different temps. It depends on how Mr. Malaysia decided to spread the TIM on your core =).
h41t3r Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 im doing 2.6ghz w/ 1.52v and my idle temps are 32 w/ load of 48-52 max. I use to get 28 idle but my load was still about 50 so I took off the waterblock and reinstalled it and im getting these temps now=.. my oc is arse.. 2.6 no matter what voltage i give it, probably time to play with memory timings
rise4310 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 so low 50's appear to be fine for load. maybe i'll gain a c or two as the as5 cures a bit more.
