cBut Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 ok from what i understand this could mean huge trouble... i have a window in my case (well currently just a hole were the plexi will go) but during boot up the cpu fan doesnt spin, then just after post it does a bunch of 1/4 turns at like 1/2 second intervals until i log onto windows then it goes full speed. this really freaked me out a couple times and i was jumping for the powerbutton everytime... should i be worried about this and how do i fix it? spdiscus Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 It doesn't run until it gets hot enough to need it (per BIOS setting). One of the BIOS screens has some settings that decide how hot is hot enough to run. I set it low so the fan's always running. hacknack Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 When I first put my computer together, the stock fan didn't spin for the first few minutes of the computer being on. I didn't like seeing that so I got a XP-90 + Vantec Volcano and attached it to a fan controller for a constant 1900 rpm. will1 Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 this is the way the athlon fan is meant to work, only when it gets to a certian temp it will cime on and also will become faster as it needs to be
