Which volt reading to trust???

Recommended Posts

I am trying to figure out which cpu voltage to trust. I have it set in the bios for:

1.475 with 110% which calculates to 1.6225

The bios reads it at 1.59 and motherboard monitor reports it as 1.57

What is correct? I am water cooled.

I also have seen this undervoltage thing: BIOS says x, and then Windows based monitor says x - 0.02.

CPU usage has nothing to do with this, as it is near 100% when you are at BIOS... yet the vcore remains stable. Also its not a stability issue, since the DFI has the most stable vcore voltage I have ever seen... the graph with speedfan is a straight line for hours no matter the system load.

Maybe there is a little more undervoltage... if it stays that way I wouldn't mind, yet I believe the windows based monitor program is not telling the truth, and vcore is actually 0.02 volts higher, exactly how BIOS says it is.

For CPU and Chipset voltages you are at the mercy of the sensor.

Yep indeed... but the voltage remains the same, not goes up and down like with other systems.

DFI system in signature: straight line.

MSI system in signature: looks like my heartbeat when I am angry... and thats 23 hours per day!

Funny, with people straight line means you are dead... while with systems means everything is perfect
