stevo909 Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 Ok heres the scoop: my buddy just ordered a new set of components and we spent today putting it all together. here they are: AMD Athlon 64 2800 DFI 250G UT Nforce 3 512 Mb PC3200 Ultra name brand BFG 6600GT basic case with 425W PS 120Gb HD LG DVD Burner So we get everything installed and put together fine then when i go to boot, the Red LED's come on, but when i turn it on, one steady beep for POST. It beeps for about 1.5 seconds then waits 5 then beeps again. Please help me troubleshoot. The BFG came defective, so we grabbed his old Ti4200, and stuck it in so i know it cant be the VC. Tomorrow im gonna try my RAM in his comp and see if that works at all. I tryed his in slot 1 and 3....ill try slot 2 tomorrow. Could it be defective memory slots...if its not his memory? any tips please post and help me out Steveo ---
Sharp Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 Hello, What power supply do you have?
CrowbarHL2 Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 do you have all power connectors connected to the mother board? sounds like the memory is in the wrong slots, mem could be bad, or try a diff. video card. Also, try reseting the bios by using the jumper on MB. I hope this helps.
MadChicago Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 Sounds like that Ultra memory is not meshing with the system. What are the specs on that memory?? I had this issue with an ASUS A8N-E board and some dimms from Crucial. It turned out that no matter what I did, the board would not POST. I ended up having to get new memory. The board is not posting, correct?
