Lanparty UT nf4. No boot, 3 lights

Recommended Posts

I haven't been able to boot my new computer.

I have plugged the four power connectors, and I have one memory stick on slot 2 (the orange one, away fromn the CPU). The video card is on PCI-e slot 1 (closer to the CPU). The card has dual DVI output, and I have it connected to a LCD via the analog VGA port, so I am using the DVI-VGA converter on the video card. I have nothing else connected at this moment. The motherboard is outside the case to keep a short circuit from happening. The motherboard speaker is set to on.

When I try to boot it, I see three leds on. Three leds mean "CPU detected". It can't be the memory because it works on another computer (all parts work ok on another nf4 motherboard). The weird thing is that the speaker doesn't make any beep. I tried connecting only the case speaker, and still nothing. I changed the video card to the PCI-e slot 2, same result.

I saw on another thread that this motherboards have problems with DVI only video cards. I'll try tomorrow with a PCI card. However, not hearing any beep is not a good sign.

Any suggestions??

With motherboard speaker jumpered to ON and NO memory in the board > you 'should' get a beep from motherboard speaker. Have you got all the power inputs to board hooked up. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...367&postcount=2 PIcs of FOUR power connectors by "sharp".

If all power inputs are hooked and memory is not in board at all and you receive no beep> RMA the board.

This is my actual test configuration:

All four power connectors are in place.

No memory.

Motherboard speaker ON.

I turn it on, I see three lights ON, no beeps.

I'll write for an RMA

Thanks for your help.
