soundx98 Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Sumthin very special happened. And it made a whole lot of folks very, very happy DFI released the 6/19 bios for the NF2s which solved the "No post = Blank Screen" problem for like 98% of the users. Bigaz jump in new members when all the details got posted here. Big shout out to OsKar Wu, Angry_Games, the RGonian One, Alexia, Jackie, Frank, Vivian, Donna and the DFI folks on the other side of the pond for the fine work - then, and over the last year. My HO's and the LanPotty been up celebrating all night. crazy biatches seem to think it's their birthday.
Shinobi Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Hehe, nice So todays the birthday of the legendary 6/19 I weren't around then, only got this Infinity in February so its nice to know its past history. This time last year i was using an Asrock K7VM4 :shake: Severely limited overclocking options and multiplier adjustments that had to be done through jumpers on the board Switching to the DFI was like a breath of fresh air... Its a hell of a lot more complex, but thats how i like it

Kamel Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 i think i've had my DFI board for over a year, but before i had it, i had an asus board. i went through 3 different asus boards and they all had similar yet different problems (none would post, one would get the lights to come on and fans to spin, one wouldn't even respond to the power buton etc.). i since moved to DFI and not a single problem since. the first board i had the memory bank went out after a good while of use, but it was quickly rma'd by newegg (i bought the 1 year extended warranty since my last motherboard was such a bad experience). i wont go into asus hating and all that, they're a great company for some people, i just got unlucky -- but i will say that i love my dfi board, and now i don't think i will ever buy anything but . i didn't even know about the bios being fixed, wonder if i was ever affected by the bug, lol. Surrept Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 I've only had mine a few months but I wish I'd had it for a year. I had a "top of the line" Abit before this one, well it was a nice board in some reguards but it seriously lacked what I didnt know even existed, I just knew I was bored with it real fast. I hit the fsb max of 215-220 really fast and nothing would break it so I was left with upping the multi and cranking the volts YAY This board is the best thing thats happened to my system, i'm almost glad my water leaked. Talk about one fine board THANK YOU everyone at dfi and thanks to everyone involved in this site!
RGone Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Yes the 6/19 was a landmark accomplishment for sure. Previous to that almost single handedly; soundx98 had molded and directioned the "war mod" thread for many users to leave that thread happy. So I salute soundx98 for that which some of you did not even know the modest puter tweaker did and nearly single handedly. Congrats all and happy putering. RGone... red930 Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Nice post soundx98,wasn't even thinking about the anniversary,I've had my LP b since 03/04 and ran the 10/15 bios without incident until I switched to the 6/19 a yr later. I think I had started to peruse the DFI-Street forums about 07/04 and left for out of state work shortly after, didn't become a member til I got back. Well maybe a few cold boot/warm boot issues, but nothing that couldn't be fixed w/a simple reset In case your interested in a DFI history lesson ala soundx98, http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...136&postcount=

Carl  i cant believe its a year already, well i can, hehehe....It doesnt seem that long ago "all hell let loose" and this forum came to be, there has been some ground breaking discoveries found due to the "Street" and those that frequent her forums. This place has been "home" for those lost souls that wanted to push boundaries that some have been scared to try....6/19 changed alot of things for the "Street" and DFi, there is no doubt of that....I hold my glass up to those that made this place possible and a great forum to hang out at...OsKar Wu, Angry_Games, the RGonian One, Alexia, Jackie, Frank, Vivian, Donna and all the DFI folks..............All the best to you all...... My HO is still as "Vicious" as the day i got her, she still howls to the Gods of OCing.....

soundx98 Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 hehehe, thank you for the kind words RGone and thanks playah for pointing out that old post of mine. Yup, that's what went down. The point I was trying to make is thjat these were the FASTEST rigs available. Hands down, nothing faster, just that sometimes they wouldn't boot. I'm talkin' expensive rigs here with the $500 vid cards and Raptor arrays and sheet. So like the 6/19 was a really, really, really big deal! but thanks for the funny stories about K6's and P3's
