PC 5000? Where?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Anyone know where I can find prices for that PC 5000 special edition OCZ RAM for the NF4 SLi-DR board? It was on newegg but out of stock...now I don't see it on their website and I used dealtime.com to search for stock but for the past couple of days when I search dealtime then it returns an error when I look for the RAM. :( ...other searches are okay it seems. just doesn't find the RAM.

:'(

PS: What do you guys think of the RAM? I'm gonna use it in a top end system I'm working on...already have the FX-55 and the nf4 board. :D

I think it got discontinuted bro....I can't even find the dual channel kit on the OCZ website, and when I did find the link for the single channel 512 stick it says at the bottom that it is no longer manufactured. I'd just stick with the ocz-4800 plats it should take care of ya.

Dude, you have to register to look at the forum? You could have stated that before the link.

Thank you inquisitor, but that's a UK site. I live in Africa and the exchange rate'll kill me! Buying it from the states was $300 or so, in R (my local currency) that's about R1800 - R1200. Cuz the exchange is somewhere around 1:6-7. Buying from the UK the rate is around 1:12 The link you posted has a price tag of 313.00...oh no wait, that price is in Euros, the exchange is 1:8.2 right now...which makes no difference because I'm in Africa! Only reason I wanted to order this RAM right now from the states is cuz my mom is there and she comes back in a week and a half... I have no contacts in the UK. :'( ...

Okay, so aside from the PC 5000 that 'no longer exists' what is the best RAM to use in a system with FX-55 Clawhammer and NF4 Sli-DR board? :( ...I was so looking forward to getting this RAM darnit! :'(

@ExRoadie, thanX for posting specs on RAM that I'll never own! *cry*. That link you posted doesn't say anything about the RAM going out of production. I noticed on OCZ's website that the link to the RAM isn't there, but if you search for it then the webpage is still there on their website. Any reason why they'd take RAM out of production when it was brand new and was just starting to win awards and stuff? :(

Does anyone know how I can get a 1GB package of this RAM to Duluth, Georgia by the end of this week? :( ...ok ok, I can't find it online, but are there any SHOPS that'll have it, I'll have to send my momma on the road but I'll do it if I have to(hehe). :D

PS: ExRoadie, love ya posts man...always very insiteful and helpful. ;)

This is so sad! I can't even find a second hand set on ebay...not that I'd be keen to buy it second hand...but I'd still like to have the choice darnit! :(

PS: What do you guys think of Sennheiser headsets? I'm thinking of buying the PC 160.

Here's the page...

http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memo...nf4_special-eol

See this towards the bottom of the page "*This product is no longer manufactured by OCZ Technology Group"

It was a special production run or RAM. It wasn't meant to last forever.

Here's some sites that list the RAM...
