875Pro-B CMOS Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, noob at this board, anyways...

I have a 875ProB, and since last week, it was having problem booting up.

"CMOS Checksum Error", everytime i try to start the comp.

I've tried the following methods to attempt to fix it..

1)Change battery

2)Reset CMOS

3)Change Power Supply

4)Upgrade + Downgrade BIOS

None of them works, anyone know how to fix it or where the problem is?

Well if you have tried everything you can. You need to remove the board from the Case and set ip up on the Bench.

Cpu and Heatsink

1-Stick of ram

PCI or AGP video card

mouse and keyboard

Powersupply.

While removing the board from the case. remove the Cmos battery during the Process. Also remove all componets including the CPU and Heatsink and reinstall them while on the bench. Look around the CPU socket for any trace damage too.

install the above Items and then install the Batery and see if it Post.

Let us know.
