Ram question

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, I’ve bought my first DFI board a couple of weeks ago when I have built my first setup ever, all went fine without any complications and I must say it was much easier building it than I’ve thought it will be. I would like to thank to this forum, since all the info I have needed I’ve found in here.

I don’t know yet where I can set my sig, so I’ll put it like this for now, but if someone can point me where it can be set it’ll be much appreciated.

AMD 64 3500+ Venice

DFI NF4 Ultra-D, Ver.003, 310 bios

GeCube X850XT

Corsair twinx 512-3200 C2

2 x 160 GB Hitachi SATA 2 in Raid 0

OCZ PowerStream 520W

Water cooled CPU/GPU

I’m currently upgrading to new ram sticks, so I’m interested on which ram would be best for my setup. I’m kind of fan of OCZ so I have already found a couple of rams which I think will be good for my setup, but feel free to point me to any other brand. Basically I’m looking for a ram that will be capable of running somewhere between 280-290MHz with lowest timings available and at 1:1.

I’m thinking of getting one of these rams:

2x512MB OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Dual Channel Platinum Rev 2 (2-2-2-5; 2.75V, 400MHz DDR)

or

2x512MB OCZ EL DDR PC-4000 Dual Channel Gold Rev 2 (2.5-3-3; 2.8V, 500MHz DDR)

or

2x512MB OCZ EL DDR PC-4200 Dual Channel Platinum (2.5-3-3-8; 2.75V, 533MHz DDR)

I would like to know if any of you guys know which out of them would be best for my setup, and if any of them is able running at 280-290MHz.
