toattett Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Alright, I am definately having problems with the Memory Divider. With everything settings exactly the same, I am only able to boot into windows with Divider 166, 180, 200, Auto and this is with the help of 510-2 BIOS. I could only boot into windows with 200, Auto before when I was using the 3-10 BIOS. Is it just me having this issue, or is it common? Thanks. Oats Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 When I first started overclocking this board I had a little trouble with the dividers too. If I ran with the 200 divider and 1T I could get up to 205mhz before I couldn't boot into windows. But if I ran the fsb faster and used a divider to keep my memory around 200mhz it would not boot eventhough the memory was at the same speed. The only time it would boot with a divider is if the memory was at around 180mhz. I ended up switching to 2T and now run my ram 1:1 at 250mhz. I might be able to get it to run 1T if I mess with the advanced timing, but I haven't had time yet. But, at the begining I thought it was strange that if I used a divider I lost mhz on my memory. toattett Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 so you can boot with these dividers? (not sure i understand your question...) For example, 245 HTT / 200.5 DRAM (166 Divider), 9x Multipler, 2205MHz, 1.425v. I can boot into windows and be Prime stable for 9 hours. Then anything like 245 HTT / 183.75 DRAM (150 Divider), 9x Multipler, 2205MHz, 1.425v. 245 HTT / everything below 183.75 DRAM (all dividers below 150), 9x Multipler, 2205MHz, 1.425v. would halt anytime before I see my desktop. Angry_Games Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 probably a quirk of the cpu memory controller. ive used dividers successfully on the NF3 754 and the NF4 939 with all sorts of memory. or possibly that VALUE memory you have (which isn't really suited for DFI boards)
toattett Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Okay, then I guess I would try the dividers again when my OCZ VX got RMA back to me, but does the divider tends to have more problems with Venice then other cores? Also, I have been hearing that USB Keyboards can cause problems? Can a USB keyboard cause Windows fail to boot?
toattett Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Sorry, could someone nice swing by and give me a hint?
SnooP Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 since your 166 divider works why not use that and see how far the ram can go? i remember seeing somewhere that the cl2.5 valueram overclocks to about 220-230mhz which will help a bit. toattett Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Flashing to BIOS 6/18-2 doesn't seems to help.
