Balduran Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I have installed all the parts and I have all the power hookups on the motherboard. However, I receive a "no signal" when I try booting with my Hydundai monitor (DVI cable) and also the optical drive will not open. I am very confused. I believe all the connections are solid and not loose. The debug LEDs have 4 lit and all LEDs appear lit. I believe my power supply is within the PSU thread and I'm sure there are many people with this RAM, so I'm confused as to why I cannot get neither a signal to the monitor nor the drive to open. (I tried both DVI and regular monitor cords, the fan on the GPU is running and everything appears normal). I don't know if my SATA hard drives are spinning up either, they are either really quiet or something is amiss. The NEC is set to master on the jumpers, I didn't plug in the PCI-e because either I'm really dumb or there isn't anywhere to plug it into. dspayre Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 4LEDs means that it is trying to detect the CPU. It hasn't gotten to the video card yet, so I don't think its a video card problem. I guess it's hard to tell what your bios is running when you cant even get it boot or display anything on the screen. For Venice cores, I believe you need 310 bios or later. Do a search on the thread to see how other Venice owners have coped with the problem. Or even PM a Venice owner.

Balduran Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Will clearing the CMOS help? I can't do anything that requires a monitor (obviously because it won't display). I read in this post http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...stalling+Venice that he cleared the CMOS and it solved the problem so he was able to update to 310. He had the 4 LEDs lit and the 3200+ Venice, is my problem the same as his? (his at least worked INITIALLY).

Balduran Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Resetting the CMOS didn't seem to work, so I am going to make sure my CPU is mounted correctly. If it is mounted correctly, where should I go from there?
Balduran Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Well I remounted the CPU, even though there didn't appear to be anything wrong with the first attempt, and I'm still getting the 4 LEDs . On the flip side I got to install that audio module that I forgot to put in before i put it in my case, but of course, I would like to have something on the screen... What should my next move be? Balduran Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Oh by the way, I have it all set up like on the step by step thing. Just the keyboard and GPU connected and all power cords connected. Oh and the Ram is in of course.
