Hello,

Well the PCI NIC is totally independant from the nvidia NIC/FW so your problem lies somewhere else.

How are you connecting to the inet?

Did the connection ever work?

well i was connected for about 1/2 hour everything worked flawlessly...

updated video drivers was okay

updated motherboard drivers

asked if i wanted to install firewall?

sure why not never seen it before..

rebooted

starting having pop-ups at bottom left hand side to allow

1st pop-up showed okay

2n pop-up was all grey click on area were previously said allow

3rd pop-up disapeared on my and since then lost connection

tried the fallowing..

went to localhost

nothing out of the ordinary

tried disableling nvidia firewall on top of windows firewall

i'm behind a router so i'm okay there.

tried disableing both marvel and nvidia nic from bios

installed dlink pci nic, was functional in previous system.

just not getting an ip ugh...

i also tried a registry fix

went and did the fallowing witch fully resets a stack

regedit

hkey_local_machinesystemCurrentControlSetServices

deleted both winsocks

rebooted

controle pannel

network connection

properties of nic

install

protocal

add

have disk

c:windowsinf

double clicked tcp

ok

close

reboot

still no internet

re-loaded windows on top of windows to repair current instalation

Yet even though i un-installed lan monitoring and firewall

during instalation i had a pop-up from the firewall.

Stated that some of it's components are not installed correctly and may not

perform wright...

now i'm gona try the fallowing...

gona try and re-install same verision of forceware from a burnt cd from a diffrent computer.

gona try sfc /scanall

see if i can get back online at least ugh....

darn i only wish i did that now...

gona re-try loading drivers tonight and see if there is a way to disable the puppy...

yet i suspect i might have that unavoidable problem were it's not un-installing and must needed to be un-installed before re-installing..

isn't there any registry keys??

i might as well try terminal mode with the internal router cause web based seem's to blow..

but i'm really trying to avoid a format and re-install...

well so far i got a little program on disk witch is a drivercleaner.net

crossing my finger's i can get it out of there he he he

and if she blue screen's on me i'll just reload on top.

crossing my finguers and if it work's i'll post the solution for sure...

If not it's going to be a painfull task to reboot in safe mode and manually delete

.sys, .dll and other nvidia files that are realated to NAM.

well driver cleaner didn't help at all....

had to even re-install windows from scratch at one point...

any how i'm online!!

Solution:

I disconnected ma linksys router

connected the modem directly to the pc.

Created a broadband connection (isp usses pppoe)

now i'm online...

but i really want to connect back to ma router bad!!

Yet i have noticed every 3 seconds i get a burst of 50% cpu usage??

this ain't normal!!

any one got a fix yet?

before i can plug it into the router i have to go to bios

genie settings

mac NV

add the mac address

then plug it in to the router.

I suspect this is reason why i wasn't getting an ip from my router.

Then the 2 process that are giving me the head ackes are the nSvIp.exe and th Nlog

when i kill both of theese my processor usage is goners.

I'm hoping my findings can help other users!

well then you still have the firewall installed I think...............................

the nSvcIp is part of the firewall and if you notice it will start to become a memory hog over a few days

on a fresh boot the thing uses <10000K after a few days it is around 80000K

have you gone into the firewall through the web interface and disabled it?

address:

http://localhost:3476/cgi-bin/ncgir.exe?menu/index.html

Yeah i defenetivly noticed the increase of memory usage ugh...

i did think it was from firewall, before i remove it i would rather be behind router 1st.

then un-install it or disable it all together..

most likely i'll plug in that mac address tonight.
