Space Cowboy Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I'm trying to figure out Ntune but am having alot of trouble. First I can't tell what the buttons are for cause they are not labled. Then everytime I try and run it I select "Best System Performance" and it just loops? Keeps going and going and going untill I stop it. Then it say's "reverting changes" What the heck is up with that? Thanks Cowboy

StephenC Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Hey Per The DFI Tech's running this site.....don't use it....it could cause a lot of real bad issues with your system.
Space Cowboy Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 So your tellin me that I shouldn't use any of the software from Nvidia? First "Active Armor" Now "Ntune" Should I uninstall ALL Nvidia Drivers also? I only have one left in add/remove programs and all it say's is Nvidia drivers? Heres a screen shot What next? I'm glad you told me but this kinda sucks. Why even buy a DFI if you can't take advantage of the tweaks and "hardware firewall" thats advertised right on the box? Thanks Cowboy
Angry_Games Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 you should be able to use the NF4 firewall (it has to do with the NF4 chipset and drivers, not the motherboard) you can use NTUNE...but it will kill your system more than likely...so don't use it (I hear you can monitor voltages or such with it, not sure, never used it...but don't use it to tweak...thats why we have all those bios options)
RGone Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 And you likely can use ""Active Armor"" if you want to go to the Nvidia site and get the instructions and learn the non-user friendly thing as I understand it. RGone...
Space Cowboy Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Thanks, Couple more questions. Since I didn't change the jumper on the mb I'm hoping that my audio is set to realtec default? I haven't been installing the nvidia sound drivers. Is this correct? Also .. in the screenshot I attached should I uninstall any of the other Nvidia drivers? Thanks A Ton Cowboy
Angry_Games Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 i never install the IDE driver unless I am using RAID on teh NV controllers (which i always do use the NV controller(s) when running RAID but I don't always use RAID heh) im honestly not sure about the audio jumper....I always leave it the way it comes out of the box and install the NV audio drivers in the 6.53 chipset package... Space Cowboy Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Well heres what I got so far. Uninstalled Ntune and the Nvidia IDE driver. Tryed to install nForce_6.53_WinXP2K_english.exe ~ Nothin? It acts like it's installing then I reboot and no shortcuts or icons anywhere. Firewall is still set to Windows XP PRO SP2 Firewall? Another Question? Should I update my BIOS to This? StephenC Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 What shortcuts are you looking for? These are the drivers for your chipset. Which audio drivers did you install?
Space Cowboy Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I didn't change the audio drivers. They are the realtec ones and work fine. Here is another screenshot. I'm thinkin I don't know what I'm doing. I have the Nvidia Network Controller disabled cause when I enable it all I get is a icon with a red x over it in the tray. Thanks For Being Paichent with me and my speeling Cowboy
