[RESOLVED] NF4 - Trouble building Raid array

Recommended Posts

I am trying to build my raid array. I have followed AngryGames tutorial. right before I get to the part where you format the drive it hangs on windows setup. I can load windows without raid. Any ideas?

try 5/10 variant...ive never tried to build an array with 3/10 bios + Venice/San Diego (they boot on any bios...but that cpu combined with the SATA II drives might need a later NVRAID bios which is in the 5/10, plus full Venice/San Diego support is in 5/10)

will it load windows on single drive?

are you overclocked trying to load windows?

did you completely Fdisk and/or format the drives (and kill the mbr from them) before doing the RAID bios?

have you checked the sata cables to make sure they were correct?

are you sure your machine is 100% completely stable @ stock speeds?

did you clear cmos with battery out and no power to the board for 10-15 minutes after flashing the bios? Did you put all of your previous settings back in correctly? You didn't try to load settings from CMOS Reloaded from an old bios did you?

sounds like unstable system somewhere then if it makes it through all of that but freezes up

you didnt answer earlier question...did you try original F6 drivers that came with the board? used the drive utility to check the hdd's?
