Ok i should start off in saying that i have run this through Ubisoft's tech support team and they came up with no answer to my questions. In doing that i ran through just about everything possible to try to straighten out my problem to no avail so i thought id post here on the off chance that this could be Mobo relaited as i do have a DFI motherboard.

I have recently built (remodeled really) a computer that was a Dell Dimension 8300. I replaced the Dell motherboard with a nice DFI Lanparty Pro 875b Rev A that i pruchased refurb from Newegg. I also put this into a new case with a new power supply. For a long time i could play all of my games and install any game without errors. Then i reformatted my PC one day to get a fresh new OS on there, its a good ting to do every once in a while so i do. I installed Windows XP Home Edition on a new SATA Seagate Barracuda 80gb 7200 RPM drive. The installation on windows went fine and dandy. I installed all of my drivers including chipset and the whole bit with the latest releases (ive got my system info saved if you need it.) Now i cant install alot of my games (Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Battlefield Vietnam). Splinter Cell was a new game i had never at the time i tried to install it but i have had Battlefield Veitnam on this computer before. Every time i try to install either of these games it halts on a CRC error on the same file every time. Since i have run through everything with Ubisoft's tech support i though maybe it could be something fautly on the motherboard (a bad IDE controller etc.) Please tell me what you think about this and most importantly what you think i can do about it, i just want to get back up and running like normal again.

are you hd's raided? I was thinking if they are not, have you tried disconnecting one of them, that the os is not on....or perhaps disconnecting the cd drive....just throwing out some ideas here....hope you get this issue resolved.
