OzSnoal Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Is this a good choice: http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memo...hannel_platinum It says this though: Tested to 2T, but may also run 1T on certain motherboards I have suffered from cold boot problems and would like to move away from high voltage. I need to decide... sooon, like now. EDIT: I can do 260MHz @1.45V (260x10) I have not attempted higher than that. Thanks
RGone Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 I was on Skype with one of their techs when he took that stuff up mighty high on DFI NF4 board. I think it is still some form of Samsung TCC? . But I would contact OCZ direct and find out 'what' modules are on the sticks still and that will tell the tale. RGone... Idividually I've had a stick upwards of 320mhz 2.5-5-4-10 2T. Individually up to 285-290mhz range at 2.5-4-3-10 1T...Trying to run both at either of these speeds is a different ballgame but that's my board and my memory controller and I haven't tried every possible dimm location/combo...yet
OzSnoal Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 From the OCZ forums: The PC4800 Plat is a very good choice for the board and uses TCC5 chips. Provided your memory controller is up to it, it will run at its rated 300FSB with 2.7 - 2.9V. Guess I will settle for this then. Unless I'm persuaded otherwise. That's there get out of jail free card It really does boil down to your controller and you may have great results with your setup. Won't know until you try though it aint the cheapest ram to be throwin money at... You're only in the 260mhz range and may be able to run it pretty tight. Good luck with it if you decide to buy... malinois1 Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Hi OZ IMHO I would go with the OCZ3200 PE Rev2. It is only $180 last time I looked and have seen 2 different pairs so far run 300MHZ memtest stable. Of course that was only on a 7 multi though. One pair is TCC5 one is TCCD. You can spend the extra $$ on a gauranted speed if you wish but you will come very close to 300 if not pass 300 with the 3200.
