Flashing Power light, 3 diagnostic LEDs

Recommended Posts

I removed the stock cpu fan and replaced it with a thermaltake big typhoon.

Every thing had been working fine up till this, im using the 3/10 bios.

After i put my rig back together and powerd up I got 3 LEDs and a flashing power light.

I have tried:

clearing the bios with the jumper.

removing the video card.

using one stick of ram in the orange slot.

checking all connections on the board.

none of these helped, i hope i didn't scratch any circuits on the motherboard when applying the new fan.

hope you can help

thanks

The TT Typhoon uses a back plate to secure itself onto the board doesnt it??

I had a problem where the plate was touching the case and somehow it was short circuiting the board.

Try stick a piece of card board paper underneath the back plate.

Hopefully it'll fix your problem.........

Worked for my system......

I tried an over night bios drain, I put one stick of ram in the dimm2 solt and every thing booted fine, right so i fixed every thing else up set my bios got into windows then shutdown my computer and put the side window back on.

When I did this I shifted the SATA power connection out of place so when i booted it didnt pick up on the hard drive, it started doing some detecting process so i just shut it down and put the cable back in right.

What happens when i boot up again? F#cken 3 LEDs so i tryed clearing the bios again for an hour, nothing and it was working a secound ago.

So here i am again, waiting for my bios to clear. Does anyone know why it takes so long for some people? Before i was able to just do it in secound with just the cmos switch.

Also why is the bios so instable?

Are you talking about the Big Typhoon, if so how the hell did you get it on your motherboard, i swear to god what the hell were does thermaltake ppl thinking. Firstly the bolts are to short, secound its booldy inpossible to get a screw driver in that sapce, you would need one of the 90deg angle screw drivers.

about the back plate im using the the one from dfi, it all plastic so i dont think it could be a problem, im gonna check it. thanks for the tip.
