coolmonk Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 I previously had my system watercooled but a "kit" that offered mediocre performance and I hated maintenance of my watercooling so....I opted for the best air cooling available. It doesn't get much better than this guys! I run my overclocked A64 3200+ (2.0Ghz -> 2.8Ghz 1.47v) 24/7 stable because of proper cooling...so for those of you wondering, here's how I'm doing it: As pictured, there is an 80mm Antec silent fan blowing directly over the chipset fan which GREATLY lowers chipset temps by about 8-10C (seriously)!!! Main CPU heatsink is a Thermalright XP-120 accompanied with an Antec TriCool 120mm fan at full-speed (1000rpm) which is super quiet. Then right above it is a 60mm fan (stock A64 fan) helping to cool the memory for superb stability since the OCZ EL Platinum Revision 2 v1.1 TCC5 does get quite warm running at 280Mhz 2.7v. A closer shot.... Noise isn't a problem at all since all intake/exhaust fans are Panaflo L1A quiet fans (yes, these fans are TRULY silent). Gosh I love AWESOME air cooling!!!! Alright...so I know my system is stable at 2.8Ghz w/ 1.47v....but I thought I'd raise it to 1.55v to increase the heat and see what temps I'd get with this cooling. Here's a shot of my temps with Prime running:
DeNs Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 And you've managed to keep the setup nice and tidy still I like! I'm guessing the fans are just wedged between two things - I can't even see any zip ties.. ---dens

SaFrOuT Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 very nice but for me as a Winbond owener i just added to other 80mm fans on the ram and the mosfet which handle the 4Vdimm since they get very very hot @ load

It's just wedged between my PSU and the Antec 120mm fan on my heatsink.
