HoUnD Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 Hey guys, I have read these forums for the past week (stickies etc..) and I have to say the support is unbelievable. This site is why I just ordered whats in my sig. My gear will arrive tuesday and I'm crunching to get all info I can. Here is a few general questions I have and ANY advice is welcome 1.) The RAM I'm going to attempt to use is from a previous build (see sig). Is this RAM TCCD or BH-5 or what? I dont see any info on any site i check. Also will I need different RAM most likely? 2.) The clawhammer 4000+ Im getting anyone experienced any good overclocks with this core? Problems? 3.) Take a look at my overall order (sig) and see if there are any potential problems. txmale36 Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 i see most over clocking the winchester or newcastle cores. i see some oc the fx55 . i cant say i see to many oc the 4000 clawhammer.i think the lower processors have a better multiplier.i would get the 4000 san diego i think its about the same price as the clawhammer that should oc better then the clawhammer if your still interested in the 4000. HoUnD Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 Ya I have heard the San diego overclocks a little better. If i can get 200-400 OC out of it Ill be happy. Im getting more and more concerned about my unmatched sticks of RAM though. After looking at them one is a v1.5 and the other is a v4.2 bought at different times. Hmm should I go OCZ EL Plat Rev 2 ? Im thinking that now.
oliveryochest Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 i would go for the San Diego as well. better overclocker in my opinion. i would definately go with a matched pair. I would choose any from these company just because the reps make frequent stops here, so if there were any issues, you can go straight to them OCZ (AndyOCZ / RyderOCZ / OCZTony) Crucial/Ballistix (CrucialLabs) Buffalo Tech (memoryman)
