PSU voltage readings

Recommended Posts

They're totally fine.

It's only the +12, +3.3 and +5 you need to worry about and those are all within +/3% of what they should be.

It's when they are out by more than +/-5% that you need to think about a new PSU, but even then, it may not cause any problems.

I actually run my PSU and therefore the whole computer out of standard voltages:

12v @ 13v (+8%)

5v @ 5.5v (+10%)

3.3v @ 3.6v (+9%)

Everything is fine.

That is the old early 550 watt antec supply and not one that does well with the DFI NF4 boards. It is likely showing the truth as being low because that True Power was not rated with many amps on +12V as the later True Power 2 supplies. If it works use it. If you start having strange problems> it would be the 'first' thing I would replace.

Thank's RGone & Jimbo I would like to think it's the PSU thats limiting me to 2.499

on my OC no matter what I do I cant hit 2.5GHz stable Grrr. LOL still 2.4GHz stable and cool is a great OC for my general everyday gaming. This Antec will be the PSU for my 7yr old's computer I'm putting togather.

Going to get this PSU soon in preperation for nF4 SLI and 2x 6600GT's

RGone is this OCZ PSU going to be a GOOD! choice?

Yes the OCZ PowerStream 600W is an excellent choice.

The only way to accurately measure voltage is with a DVM/DMM like this.
