nF4 - psu enough for sli?

Recommended Posts

I am about to buy a bridge and another Leadtek PX 6600GT TDH, and the Danger Den SLI gpu watercooling solution, but just want to confirm that my OCZ Powerstream520W will be up to the task.

I'll be using the 240V Eheim1250, so the pump won't be using system power, but the extra 2x120mm Papst fans to cool the dual rad will.

If it looks a bit close, I might sell the 6600GT and grab either an X800XL, or 6800GT.

I realise there are formulas for this but I don't know where to find one.

And I am also aware the ocz is rated @ 520W but has a peak rating of 620W (I think, as I haven't got it back from RMA yet).

What do you guys reckon?

I'd like to do the sli mod and have a play with sli, but if I'm gonna stress the ps I might not.

The OCZ will handle that setup fine, my only question is why set up a sexy water cooling rig on 6600s

Umm....well...atm I'm only stock air-cooled, and even though the card is @ 560/1120 and is cool, I am thinking with the reduced air-flow due to sli, and that an extra card is gonna mean another fan, so, extra noise.

I'm trying get my rig a lot more quiet.

I've worked out a nice vacuum ducting mod that'll pass over the ram and suck some heat away from the passive Zalman I've got installed on the chipset.

I'll have the rad mounted in a "sound-proofed" quiet box, with the pump, so I'll be down to a 120mm intake and 120mm exhaust, once I've got my new G4 on the cpu

Everyone's gonna try things their way, yes?

Thanks for the confirmation guys.
