StephenC Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 Double check your floppy connections again. Try a dif cable if you have one. Disconnect and reconnect power cable to floppy as well.
StephenC Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 Boy I should read the entire post first...Just make a bootable floppy and see If it will boot to it. Or just put the floppy for bios in and if it boots to it s/b good to go.
Combo7 Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 i got it working. The problem was that the Floppy drive wasnt set as a boot device in the BIOS.

Combo7 Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 thanks to your help stephen, ive gotten everything set up and its time to run memtest. I've input the memory settings from Angry and Rgone already. I do have a quick question though. When i go to the bios (to the Genie section), scroll down to Memtest86, and then hit enter and then set it to enable, i just still see the Genie Bios screen with the word "Enable" next to Memtest86. Is this normal? How do i watch the process of the Memtest?
Angry_Games Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 heh, after enabling memtest in the bios, you have the F10 (Save & Exit) and it will boot into Memtest...to get out of memtest, just hit Esc and it will reboot...when you are done with memtest, just hit Esc and reboot, go into bios and DISABLE it adn then F10 (Save & Exit) again

Combo7 Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 any idea why memtest says my San Diego 4000+ is running at 2009 mhz? Is that a bug, or did i not put the right settings in for it in the bios when i was setting it up(http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5844 and http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showpost....75&postcount=10 is what i used for the settings), or do the San Diego 4000+'s really run at that speed? Sorry i cant post the BIOS settings i put in exactly, memtest is running, so i cant really see them.
Combo7 Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 lol ok this is totally off topic, but did anyone notice that on the DFI Lanparty box, the kid is sitting there with this great lit up computer, he has headphones on, and he looks to be sitting there intensely gaming......without a power supply :shake: . The PSU opening on the back of his case is totally empty. Anyways, back to the question above.
Combo7 Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 so many things are running through my head. I have yet another question. I hooked my Hitachi SATA-II Harddrives into the slots labeled "SATA 1" and "SATA 2" on my board. Are those the right slots for those to be connected too? I plan to RAID-0 them. So that makes two questions now: 1. "any idea why memtest says my San Diego 4000+ is running at 2009 mhz? Is that a bug, or did i not put the right settings in for it in the bios when i was setting it up(http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5844 and http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/sh...75&postcount=10 is what i used for the settings), or do the San Diego 4000+'s really run at that speed? Angry_Games Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 4000+ = 200x12 (2400Mhz) you can hook your sata drives into any ports on the sata controllers. just make sure they are on teh same controller for RAID (ie cant have 1 on NV controller and 1 on Si3114 controller and raid them) follow my raid tutorial if you need help: http://www.angrygames.com/nf4raid-1.htm
