Maarek_Stele Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Look for a newer firmware version for you LG, try other clables or master/slave setup, Force UDMA 2 for your burner if it's a UDMA4 or 5 unit (it will still be more than enough and solves problems with some drives. But first of all, I'd try to go to add/remove, select nvidia drivers and remove only nvidia SW IDE drivers to try the default windows ones, as the nvidia are know to cause trouble with some setups (including mine...). Good luck!

red930 Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Removing the controller from device manager allows the OS to reinstall the controller and turn all of the features back on. Something caused the OS to downgrade the controller. Normally this happens when there are a lot of CRC errors. Keep an eye on it. red930 Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 There's no way to tell yet. If the problem shows up again you'll need to make a cable change then reload the controller to start fresh. I ran into this problem a few years ago when I installed a new CD burner. It turned out the burner was defective in my case. Others have changed the cable or flashed the BIOS on the drive to correct the problem. ok, but the problem is cheap dvd-r or defeating ata cables ? thanx
