Angry_Games Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 you must have been listening to the same NPR segment we just were lol i love how its ok to label some countries as part of the axis of evil etc and complain about their human rights violations and we (*ahem* gov't) go on and on about how great we are and our laws and freedoms...but we change the rules and/or deflect the criticism when we do the exact same rights-violations that 'axis of evil' countries do...lol...makes me laugh (in a scary way) canada is looking more inviting all the time (i can dig tree-hugging liberals...i can dig about anything since there will be sold-out hockey games even in the smallest of cities!) ps: they never said 'Gitmo is a gulag' they said 'it is the gulag of our time' monkies that throw feces without taking a moment to think about the distinction are...well...feces throwing monkies... red930 Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 ps: they never said 'Gitmo is a gulag'they said 'it is the gulag of our time' To quote the famous Forrest Gump, "gulag is as gulag does" lol Gitmo is not a forced labor camp. See here... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls...&q=define:Gulag Actually, I was discussing things with my Cousin that just returned from France. The news over there makes a point of informing the public that the issues with the Koran at Gitmo are rather minor since the detainees are the ones doing most of the flushing and tearing of the books. One of the things these guys learn in their training camps is how to manipulate the media for their purposes. They learn to claim all of these outrageous things to draw attention to themselves and let the America haters have a feeding frenzy. Another news item we haven't seen in the United States is the UN report stating that the WMDs that "never existed" in Iraq are now missing. How can they be missing from the UN inventory of WMDs in Iraq if they "never existed". It truly is amazing how much our news is filtered in the United States. I stayed/lived in NY 3 months and the news was the worst part of it. go watch the movie "Gangs of New York" and you will see nothing has changed! lol.
