NF3 Ultra-D 939/AGP

Recommended Posts

@Rodan I fully agree with you man.

Its time something was done,I am certainly in no position to move to NF4 as every bios issued has caused me problems.

People need to wake up and smell the coffee,it seems his board is majorly flawed and something needs to be done.

It would seem that a small % of lucky owners have zero issues with this board but I can bet you that there are a lot more who are having loads of trouble.

I have not seen many people even posting on the UK based PC forums who are actually using this motherboard!!

Time for that is over. During that time I didn't see any poster who said oh 7xx

didn't give me any of those problems. Didn't see that at all, not 1. Now I see

some new posters with the same hardware, that don't have these problems.

I wonder why they're here. They totally think either this never did or does

happen, belittleing the original posters of this thread and all the very hard

work they put into this board trying to make it work. This thread was about

something else.

I "doubt" anybody who overclocks this board will not have problems with

602/7xx released bios' If your not ocing this board then why did you get it?

Reliability/Stability?

Rodan... I owe you the biggest apology of all.. Its confession time!

I have been running around the internet for a couple weeks now, seeking out the 9 or 10 people that actually got a working board. After a great deal of persuasion, I was finally able to get those few peeps to show up here, and "belittle" the original posters ( some of whom are now ball-less from their tireless hours of work and sweat).. And we all agreed to pretend that the problems you speak of.. never have or will happen.

WOW, MAN... SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP!

You came here for the same reason everyone else did.. TO LEARN AND SHARE! Its clear that many boards did not function properly!!! who is denying that?? It's clear that other boards worked wonderful! Why does that anger you?

I do Over Clock.. I came here to learn anything I could to help in that endeavor.

I personally feel that I owe the success that I've had to this forum, I didnt just divine the answers, I read and read and read, and extracted the information that applied to me!

Get over your problem, and let the ones who are continuing to work with this board enjoy themselves! Being burnt, or a dissapointed customer, by no means make you a unique individual in this world, no matter what product you are talking about.

I am hopeful that DFI finds a way to make things right for you and any others, as I think any company should strive for customer satisfaction.

Hey all, it's Winston checkin' in again.

I haven't been in this thread in a few weeks and now I can't find the nF3 939 board anywhere!

Mwave doesn't even list them anymore, neither does newegg...

What's going on? are these things just dying out?? :(

I guess its filtered down to the ones who "think" they got a good board and

the very new posters who never read this thread and are just here for flash

answers. The ones who think they got a good board are also new.

This thread is over 5,000 pages in 4 months, trying to make this board work.

Hundreds of man-hours of trial and error. People posting 100-line guides on how

they got 705/711 bios to save changes. 602 cold boot problems. Hot flashing

because bios defaulted to 349 fsb when flashed. Buying new chipset coolers

because of the fan failure. Sensor defects, voltage defects. Stock settings won't

post or boot to windows. People beating thier heads against the wall after

a hundred flashes.

Before a few weeks ago when the nf4 and nf3 were split off, there was just

this thread. Someone new would come on and say "I just flashed 7xx bios and

tried to set the time and save, then no post" had to reset cmos. Someone

who knew would come to the rescue and point them to a procedure that

required 9 reboots, drive power dissconnects, and a certain sequence of of

changes. After an hour of this, it would save changes. As soon as you went to

overclock, no post. Have to do it all again.

Time for that is over. During that time I didn't see any poster who said oh 7xx

didn't give me any of those problems. Didn't see that at all, not 1. Now I see

some new posters with the same hardware, that don't have these problems.

I wonder why they're here. They totally think either this never did or does

The TWEAKS page is more a template on just how bad this board is.

Multi-meters and temp probe readings just to translate the onboard sensors.

I've been in this thread and owned this board since June 16. The board is not

being manufactured. You should get a "handle" on that right now and make

your decisions based on that!

Yes, I did post 939 threads the last week or so, when the questions involved

availability and purchaceing. I'm not the only one who knows this. I would like

to know not to buy from a retailer trying to sell off his defective merchandice.

Maybe you should understand retailer/manufacturer(distributer) relationship.

Its like rebate coupons. The retailers get full reimbersement (plus profit).

The manufacturer selectively ignores, or end owners never apply for rebate.

I fear your ignoring your rebate and/or that your to fearfull to ask for a credit from

your retailer. I think you "hope" the world will fix your problem!

I've spent hundreds of ball sweating hours of "keep your fingers crossed" work

on this board. No, not to overclock, but to just Post n Boot and flash and reset.

In order to have an "attitude" you have to have something that works!

You have some kind of nerve rebuking posters here expressing worry about the

future of this product. The dollar may not mean much to YOU, but to the other

99%, its right up there with ..

Bios updates, product support is dead for this board! An exchange will probably

be offered and I hope it does. I think Dfi is an excellent company. However, this

is my first mobo bought from them. The jury's still out. We'll see weather they

ignore the 939 U-D original rev a owners or not. If they don't offer a remediation

your screwed, thats all. No big deal. Go check Asus. But the time for this summary

is now. Don't post here thinking this board is supported. Its time for cleanup

on this board. Get your s*hit together, its dead !!

You can say whatever you like. Mine is fine.

IT'S BEEN FINE FOR MONTHS. NO PROBLEMS SAVING ANY SETTINGS FIRST GO.

I overclock FINE.

Here is my setup with this board using *BIOS 711*

Lian Li V1000+ aluminium case

LANPARTY UT nF3 ULTRA-D (with Swiftech MCX159 chipset cooler)

Topower 580W Power supply

Winchester 3200+ CPU (with Thermalright XP120 +panaflow fan)

2 x Kingmax 512mb DDR500 ram (installed in the slots farthest from the CPU forget the color)

Maxtor 300GB 16mb cache SATA - Diamondmax10

Audigy 2 ZS Soundcard

Albatron Geforce 6800 Ultra (with Zalman VF700-Cu VGA Cooler)

Here are my BIOS SETTINGS:

FSB : 260

Multi: 10X

AGP : 67

LDT : 3X

Cool+quiet : Disable

CPU VID : 1.550V

CPU Voltage : +0.2

Chipset Voltage : 1.75

Memory Voltage : 2.9

AGP Voltage : 1.5

Dram settings :

Memory Hole : Enabled

Max MEMclock : 200

1T/2t : 1T

CAS Latency : 3

RAS TO CAS Delay : 5

TRAS : 10

ROW Precharge : 5

Everything else is AUTO EXCEPT

Refresh Rate : 3120 Cycle

DDR Output Driving : Weak

This is 100% stable for me, absolutely not ever a problem. I like this board. It appears to undervolt but you can just adjust it, the sensors seem to work OK except for one thing, the CPU temp does flick down occasionally but flicks straight back up. Using Smartguardian I couldn't tell you if the reading is 100% accurate but it seems to be, when I put the thing under full load the temp goes up. So a minor problem.
