NF3 Ultra-D 939/AGP

Recommended Posts

Meh idk anymore. I just don't understand why my sound drivers refuse to install now. Why would the windows logo testing window pop up 20 times before I install now? I don't understand this.

as you placed the board on the antistatic nilon you probably burned audio component when you turned the power on. the nylon bag is covered with conductive coat and that is why is called antistatic - to conduct the static electricity so it doesn't affect the board inside

Jason If you are going over 230 HTT I would raise the chip voltage to 1.75 And set the AGP to 68 right from the start

Thx Blinker how about ldt when should i set it to something else then default 4?

Hmm. So maybe it doesen't detect onboard audio anymore so that's why it doesen't install? =(

edit: That's it. I just thought abotu checking in dxdiag and it detects nothing. Guess I'll need to be buying a sound card.

Well I finally said "F-it" and am moving on.....got a friend who will be buying my 6800GT AGP and I will be getting the PCI-E version sometime next week. Already ordered the Nf4 Ultra-D and got 10 feet of tubing for my loop since I'll be emptying it and refilling it, time for some fresh tubing...and I will say a big "F YOU" to this board...I'll let someone else deal with it...I think I'm just gonna put it up for like $50 so I can get this shiz gone.

Got lots of good help in this thread though with people suffering with me :D

OldGuy - you helped me out quite a damn bit so I appreciate your efforts through sticking with everyone in this thread and still managing to help people 1-on-1

Angry Games & R_Gone - I got help from each of you on occasion and I definitely appreciate that as well and of course managing to not pull each every hair out of your head while dealing with this board and thread :)

Good luck to the rest of you fellas and may something good work out for ya

Ok, i'm thinking that this board won't be reliable even with a bios update.

Three released bios' 602,705,711 and the only one that works poor is the

815 beta which is the best one so far. I'm thinking board has hardware

ic problems that a bios can't fix. After reading Nubius, I emailed my retailer to

see what my options are maybe on a rev 2 hardware fixed board. I'm also

considering the dfi lp nf4 board. I have this 9800 pro agp card I spent some

good money on and it would be hard to lose.

Questions:

-If I went to the nf4 board, could I sell the 9800 on ebay, and for how much?

-NCIX might be willing to rma or replace the board (haven't emailed them back)?

-How is the Patriots (in my sig) on the LP ultra nf4?

-Any guess on what DFI is going to do with this board in the near future?

-What would be a good plan of attack if you were me?

Excerpt from my retailer:

Dear XXXXXXXXXXXX,

I'm not sure if a rev. 2 is coming out but your's defiantely sounds defective. I think we should setup an RMA to get it replaced. Let me know if you want to go ahead with that.

Regards,

Ryan

Hi, I bought this board from you around the end of June.

Since day one I've had nothing but problems.

I was holding out for a bios fix, but nothing works for this

board.

Summary:

-Chipset fan loud and stopped working, had to replace it

with a Vantec Iceberg cooler.

-602 bios has cold boot problems.

-705/711 bios cant save cmos, have ro reset/reboot all the time

-Sensors for voltage/temps dont work

-Board under then overvolts

-R716 resistor is a problem

I believe it has major hardware problems that cannot be fixed.

What can you do for me? Is there a new rev 2 of the board

coming out?

Thank for your help!

I can only state, i've had no problems whatsoever with this motherboard. It works as advertised. The only drawback or glitch seems to be the undervolting of the vcore. Which you can adjust anyway.

The chipset fan is a little dodgy but I replaced it as soon as I bought it.

I'm not sure about sensors, I guess I could test them if you like, what's a good program to see temps ?

I've had no problems WHATSOEVER changing BIOS options with any bios except 815 and no problems with cold booting at any stage of owning the board.

I see alot of people pushing their ram out of spec and expecting miracles, I dunno. Just understand there's people using this board who are happy with it. I know I am.
