Ok, my latests newb oc exploits/info for what its worth. Can images be uploaded here?

HTT =250 x 10 = 2.53g (cpuz), temp 34c (yeah right)

Vcore +.1 (?), 1.32v (cpuz)

209 mhz ram, 2,2,2,5, Mem div = 166/200

Did the Giasan thing for my tccd, ie: 13,16 something but

most notably some Drive Q @ 50% (only on SD cpu's)

I still need the other settings on that ram bios page for MY (and only my) memory.

The thing is extremely stable. The notable thing after Giasan's thing is that it is

real crisp, I mean sharp no latency. Very noticable!

And lastly, I'm getting 6500 Mb/sec (not gb/s) in Sandra mem transfer test.

The heatsink is real cool. I stressed it watching porno mpegs and games. No problems whatsoever.

I've had this SD chip working out (new) for almost a week. Went to levels 2.2, 2.4, then 2.5 gig. I think it has to break in doesen't it?

Anyway mucho better.

What should I try next. I need the full clocks for my ram though. I'm convinced

with the right settings I will have no worries with this cpu/mobo combo.

Anyway the ram is Mushkins L2 v2 pc3200 ( it don't like high volts, its at 2.7 now).

They're broken in already, bout 1 year old they are, run at stock speeds 200.

edit: running at 1T

edit2: btw, read that the SD/Venice(most)'s are at @ 85 watts whereas the X2's (all) are at 110. Wow, holy heatwave batman...

I have to go +0.3 to get 1.3 volts for the X2. At Default, it would be under 1.3, and I couldn't even install Windows. +0.3 no problems.

It seems they are tring to compensate some how ......We do need an answer some how.

How is your madchine running stock ? OK

Machine runs fine. Once I begin overclocking, goes to hell.

BIOS needs lots of work. I think they rushed this board out the door.

Hi all,

Just got the nf3 ultra-d a couple of days, after much tweaking finally got it @283x9 prime & 3d stable. 300htt boots up fine (with 133 ram divider), passed few 3dmark05/aquamark loops but failed Super_pi 32M test. (Semi) happy for now till my Corsair XMS4400 (TCCD) arrives.

Anyway, anyone here running raid0 setup w/ 2x 36gb raptors? For me there's always a 30sec+ freeze while windows xp is loading (30sec pause during the winxp bootup screen), just wondering if anyone could offer some suggestion/ fix. Also, my mobo displays a lower voltage rail readings compared to the previous AV8 mobo e.g. +12V ~ 11.71V - wonder if this is the board's fault or my PSU (re: sig).

Thanks in advance

Yeesh, I was here earlier and there's already like 6 more pages.

Anywho...I swear it seems like DFI just threw this board out to subdue the people who were wanting to the nf3 socket 939 board and to put DFI's name out there so MSI wouldn't be considered top, which IMO would be the first time in their career since they've never been considered uber OC'ing boards IMO....but man, anyone else feeling somewhat neglected by the Taiwanese BIOS makers? People like Angry_Games and RGone are doing a damn fine job and practically going beyond the call of duty and it's like the higher ups keep even ignoring them, it's pretty sad.

The board is pretty good...I'm disappointed in my venice at this point, BUT, I do hate this constant everyday cycle of having to flip off the PSU, flip it back on...power up...wait for the POST message to say the CPU is in safe mode, go into the BIOS, exit without saving and THEN it'll boot up without a hitch....if it wasn't for my dad complaining that he 'likes his morning coffee in quiet' I wouldn't ever turn this thing off.

The last post that the 'DFI Engineering tech' made was ridiculous saying the Voltage was within the norm of a venice yet it was at 1.28.....a venices standard voltage is what 1.45!? How the hell is .11 undervolts within the norm?

Voltage tables being screwed, everyone seems to be getting the same temperatures no matter the cooling, we're all a part of the chipset poking club, a good majority is having issues with 1T, "cold boot" is another issue....all of these are based on stock performance too, not even overclocking....

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I really feel like we've been tossed a bone just so our begging would stop or something.

Like I said, Angry_Games, RGone you guys have done fantastic (hell oldguy as well lol) at keeping us posted, spending your time destroying your nerves trying to make this board shine for the users....like I said it just seem like those who really have control over making this board even better hardly give a damn. =/

First off, forget what your motherboard reports for different voltages, especially the +12V. It's not as critical as you might imagine. The only true way to tell your +12V is to measure it with a real voltmeter at one of the unused molex connectors. Mine's 12.01V, read with a Fluke 189 DMM, solid as the day is long, but if I went on what the onboard voltage monitoring circuit said, I'd think it was all over the place.

I'm running a pair of 36gb raptors in RAID0 and I do not experience a delay getting into windows. From the time my machine leaves the POST routine, it boots to XP desktop in ~14 seconds. Are you running the Nvidia Nforce Unified WHQL 5.1 drivers?

If you are, perhaps you need to run one of those programs that tells you everything that is loading at the start of Windows. There could be some other routine running that you're unaware of. The only other thing that comes to mind is to make sure you are running on the SATA 3&4 headers and that you have SATA 1&2 disabled in bios (assuming you are not using them also).

Good Luck,

Hoot

P.S. You nailed it Nubius!
