Recommended Posts

Test of the different memory slots:

Memory: 2X256 G.Skill "LE"

CPU: Venice 3200

Mem Timings: 200 1T 3-4-4-11-auto--->auto

Vcore: 1.55 +.3(1.69V actual)

Vdimm: 2.9(3.0V actual)

Multiplier: 8X

HTT Ratio: 3X

BIOS: NF3UD0629

Orange Slots(2&4)

325HTT(326 actual):

Memtest passed no errors

335HTT(338 actual):

Memtest #5---------> 6000+ errors

Yellow Slots(2&4)

335HTT(338 actual):

Memtest #2 & #4---> 152 errors

Memtest #4---------> 190 errors

Memtest #5---------> beeping like crazy!

Reversed sticks:

Memtest #2 & #4----> 296 errors

Stopped test......

Conclusion:

For the above configuration, the Orange slots, $1 & #3 yield the best performance for me. There are reports of users getting better results in the yellow slots when running BH-5 or equivalent.

hmmm, thats weird...wat RAM do you have??? (the EXACT model...)

i have the OCZ 2x512mb PC3200 EL Plat Edition Rev2.0 TCC5, and have them running in Dual Channel 2-2-2-5 @ T1...

which i was unable to do in my EPOX 9NDA3+...i thought my 3800's mem-controller was just a little dodgy...glad i was wrong :D

just flashed the 628 BIOS...had problems re-starting my PC...would just get a black screen...now i'll see if this new BIOS helps...also gonna try some overclocking...see if i can get my processor past 2.6Ghz!

It's the OCZ400512R3. I can run them single channel at 6-3-3-2 @ 1T. I can run them at 220 @ 7-3-3-2.5 on my Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe, but no dual channel for me :(

HI Guy's im new here but i have been watching this thread for a while and it because as you have guessed i like this board but im a little leary about buying it this friday.But i have a few questions maybe you all can answer.Ok no im a complete AMD NOOB..lol But im tried of the performance im getting from intel i have a P4 2.8c MO Stepping that will do 3.9ghz but i still get wasted by Guy's with 3000+'s.Ok so with that .Im looking at getting this board and a 3500+ some ocz PC3200 gold and a few other things like a DDR booster and a new Psu.Im not really sure which im getting yet it's either gonna be a OCZ PowerStream 520 or a Mod stream 520 or maybe antec TP550 2 just not sure yet on this.Now my question. I have Adata PC4000 (2-3-3-5 at 200 fsb 2.7v or 2.5-3-4-7 at 255 fsb 2.9 volts but will go higher on higher voltages)which smokes on my P4 setup 280 fsb and will go higher but my cpu crap's out there.So would this ram work with this board or do you think it would cause me more issue's?Also would it be better to go with the DFI LP UT Nf4-ULtra D?Any help will be greatly apprecitated thanks in advance Another thing everyone keep's telling me get a gigabyte GA-K8NS 939 Ultra which is a NF3 board also and they say it has no issue's and OC's pretty good even with cheap ram which mines wasnt but $239 not even 8 months ago.Oh and by the way LUCKy thats a nice 3500+ 252X11 thats about what im looking for. and thats with the $102 2x512 OCZ Value ram?

mothow, if you can upgrade to PCi-E video type card your best route would of course be NF4 chipset board. HTT bandwidths match between NF4 and 939 processor where NF3 actually "has" an HTT of 800 and not the 1000HTT that the 939 cpu has. So there are any number of reasons where financially feasible and based on overall intent> to go big or stay at home. HEhehehehe.

RGone... :)

Yeah thats kind of what im thinking .I have have the cash to upgrade with the same basic part's if i go with the NF4 But i would have to maybe skimp on the cpu and get a 3200+ and a 6600non GT but that will ony be for a about a mont then ill get a 6800GT (after i sell my6800 NU) or maybe 7800GTX.I would buy one now if i had PCI-E

You run 2x256 mem size. Have you try whit 2x512mb? Becouse the problem can be this for the 1T, the amount of the mem.

Bye
