Pagefile/ virtual memory partition

Recommended Posts

Is there any real advantages to having a 1, 2 or 3 gig partition as a page file? Or is it just as good to let windows manage it for you. With the reformat I partitioned my #1 Seagate to 40 gig © for windows ( I know that s pretty big), and will partition the rest of it to around 50 (D) for games and 70gig (E) for programs. The second Seagate will be just for storage. I posted this question on a couple of different forums with no response yet.

The optimal way to do it would be to have a small 2gig partition on a seperate drive not the drive with your os on it ( make sure that its the first partition on the drive).. and use that as a page file.. I like to make the page file min and max size the same even if im not using a seperate drive..

Im not running like this now but tbh.. I didnt really notice a difference, its just one of those tweaks that add up with all the others that might help a little..
