waldis Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 before my current FSP bluestorm i had TT purepower 480 (w0026r) http://www.thermaltake.com/2005/purepower/W0026.htm 480w 20pin 12v@18a atx1.3 absolutely no problems with ultra-d (sli-mod) config exact the same as in the sig, only psu changed (memory, cpu, video -- all of them overclocked) also tried it with 2x6600gt in SLI mode -- everything ok, +12v -- 12.05v (12.3 in idle) memory voltage -- 3.5v have used 20-->24pin connector also had no problems with an expert board, absolutly the same as FSP bluestorm 500 that's only my experience, so please don't blame me and beg pardon for poor english. p.s. maybe a candidate for the "A" list?
Raiker Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 no, it's not 24 pin and has only 18A on the 12V rail...
vipera Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Just added another 4 hard drives to my RAID5, was a little worried that my PSU wouldn't be able to handle it, but its still working great running 11 hard drives.

vipera Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 It doesn't seem to take the motherboard into consideration, and I know the DFI boards or at least the Lanparty boards are power hogs. Yeah, it seems they are using a fixed value of 43W for the motherboard. On a side note, I have a 750VA UPS that has LED indicators for the power draw. I also have my LCD plugged into it, which is supposed to take 75W. I've never seen it go past 3 of 5 bars, so assuming it is accurate and they each represent 150W, my PSU has never pulled more than (450-75) 375W from the UPS. It idle, with Q&C enabled, the hard drives on the RAID not spinning, and the LCD on, only 1 bar is lit, meaning the PC is only taking 75W at the most? I'm thinking the LCD doesn't actually use 75W, or the LEDs aren't accurate.
red930 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 LOL I just configured my rig Aileen as she appears in my sig. Said I needed 304W! I know for a fact she won't boot with anything less than a 500W Fortron BlueStorm. My Enermax 465W PSU just sits there and won't even spin the fans. That's an amusing time killer and not much else. My system powers up fine with an Enermax 430W, with only 4 hard drives on the raid card. It crashes after a few hours though, possibly because the Enermax is only a 20-pin PSU. Raiker Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 seems like i got no answer to my earlier post: My supplier is all out of OCZ's (215 usd) so it seems i¿ll get this Tagan (210 usd). http://www.performance-pcs.com/cata...roducts_id=3745 i have heard nothing but praises for the Tagan's so... the spec are pretty, but has anyone confirmed this? the tt 680W specs were pretty too but it wasn't a good one... no, the psu is for my current rig, but in case any component in my rig is defective, i'll buy an sli-dr + opty dualcore + 6600gt, so i need a good psu...
