Corsair DDR440 and Memtest problems.

Recommended Posts

Hi there.

I have a strange problem as follows.

On my DFI Lanparty NF4 SLI-DR motherboard bios 310, A64 3500 whinchester at 2.2ghz, Enermax Noisetaker 600W my Corsair 1GB DDR XMS4400 TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2.5 fails Memtest v1.51 on test 8. But each stick passes fine on its own. Only when run in dual channel mode in slots 2 and 4 will Memtest fail. I have increased the vdimm upto 3.2 volts but it still fails. Even at 245mhz Memtest fails with both sticks in dual channel mode.

Any ideas?

Michael

I've tried the settings suggested above and get even more errors. I might just return this ram in exchange for some different stuff. What ram do you recommend for this motherboard?

Future DFI I just managed to pass Memtest test 8 for the first time with your settings I ran at 260 x 8.5, [email protected]. I only did 1 loop but still it was the first time the ram has passed since I got my machine last Tuesday. I will give it an extended test soon.

I just hope it passed it for a few hours.

Thanks.

It is me again;-)

After trying the suggestions above I "thought" I had found the right settings at which my Corsair would be stable. I was looping Memtest for 5-8 hours at 260fsb x 8.5 and 2.8-9 volts with no errors. But now I fail Prime95 instead. I keep the cpu at 2.2ghz all the time and just increase the fsb. Even as low as 232mhz I fail Prime95 after 5-7 hours using the 'In place use large ffts" test.

What is going on here? I buy ram rated to do 275mhz and it won't run stable at 232 with relaxed timings!!!

My corsair goes up to 295+ memtest stable at 2,5-4-4-8 (default settings) but not Prime stable. I'm Prime stable (~8hrs cant wait for more) at 265X9=2385 with A64 3000+ Winnie.

Since memory controller is on CPU u cant distinguished which its fail first, but i think most of the time is CPU that fails first.
