cal50 Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Is this a native 24 pin ? http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp...N82E16817104152 I am looking to upgrade my current PS with either this or a fortron. I would like to hear some feedback from people that have either one of these good or bad. I want a higher overclock. More juice cant hurt. Guest JaY Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 It's not a native 24pin psu in the sense that it doesnt have dual +12v rails, but it does have a snapon connector to make it 24pin...still only one +12v rail. at the moment, the only true 24pin psu by ocz is the 600w one. I think it might be native 24 pin but not dual rail. But I avoided the issue by getting the 600 instead
Exar_333 Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 its not dual 12v rails, buts its a good PSU...setup a buddy using that and dual 6600 gt's in SLI, plenty of amps/power...2 6800's and extra HDD's...id go for the 600 *wink*
cal50 Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 The 600 is split rails (12V). Is the 600 a native 24 pin or is it through an adapter ? I am leaning towards the 600 (wink, wink!) What's another $200 bucks at this point.
Exar_333 Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 neither uses an adapter...but it has the 4 pin cable that you either plug in with a 24[in,. or just use the 20 pin if u are using the old 20-pin connection...often times, this 4 pin cable can either attach or detach from the main 20-pin cable...its more for convenience...if u think u will need the extra power later, go for the
