Have'nt played w/ that, but if it were me, I'd think about flashing to an even later bios sometime in april. But that is JUST my opinion.

Specifically, I'd think about 4/14- 1 or 4/14 - 3 based on TCCD.

Put the old cpu back to see whether this is a cpu/board problem. My DFI suddenly stopped working with RAM slots 3 & 4 (no post if anything put in there), so basically I was left with a working slot 2 only because slot 1 is the yellow one and would not want to work with more than 200fsb.

this is really peeing me off at the moment.

updated to the 04/14/05 bios and it finally booted dual channel after the 2nd attempt.

then after that it was back to infinate boots or asking for an nvidia boot up agent or something never seen that happen before.

think ill pop my winchester back in to see if that works ok.

You did clear CHOMOS correct? Did you check the BIOS settings to make sure everything is in line after your changes CPU and cleared CHOMOS.

It might be a good idea to list your volts and memory settings if you dont get it fixed quickly. There isnt a big database on these chips yet lucky man.

EDIT: I just noticed the old thread you might need to consider more volts to the CPU that seems pretty low. Post all your settings especaly memory so others can avoid your problems.

Heh, now this is a clear bios problem. This means bios has not found any harddrive to boot and therefore is trying to boot off the LAN. Things to check:

1) boot priority. Make sure your HDD's are properly configured and set to the correct boot order.

2) HDD access mode. Make sure it's set to LBA, not CHS (DFI bios has the nasty habit to drop it from LBA to CHS already from the nForce2 days (has happened for me at least once on all DFI platforms I've used)).

This should correct the problem.

Glad you sorted out the no-boot thingy, btw!

I bet Rgone will have some good info for you he has one and is running well I beleve. Wish I had one so I could do some testing. I did see one of the people with no problems has upped the volts not that I would want to be the first person burning out one of these ;0)

So what are your settings are you at stock CPU volts? What is your memory set at .........inquiring minds want to know. I want to know what these babys can do :D

Got 2 X 1GIG sticks in Ultra-D from here and at 240 X11 W/ 1.52 VCore and 3.0Vdimm. yeah, I went over and read that thread and 3/4's of it was about MSI boards. I saw a user with some problems with DFI board but in general what I heard was folks trying to get the thread originator to try to run undervolted or some other scared clock. He was finally stable himself at 1.6Vcore and later post at 1.55Vcore and not fooling with low volts and heavy loading. I agreed quickly with his assessment.

Swapping back and forth between various sticks of memory requires a CMOS clear before and after swap or "knowing" exactly what one's memory will do. I get to where I know my memory and still forget at times what I am swapping onto and have to go back to previous memory and clear CMOS and then leave that memory configuration and move to the new with a fresh CMOS clear or Load optimized defaults.

It really is getting onto a bios and learning it. I am on 3/16/05 and personally I have not flashed past it and do not intend to really until I find a memory configuration that gives me any problems and need what might be a better set of timings out of a newer bios. Better may too mean just an overall looser bios and I am not interested in that.

RGone... :)

seems like im not the only one with probs running a venice with a dfi board, theres a few more people on page 2 of this thread having more or less the troubles as me.

all ive been hearing about the Venice is problems -- Im just being honest... all of the posts Ive seen from people getting them are not saying anything about it working...

No offense to anyone that wants them, but I think the Winnie is still better now, becuase the winnie is PROVEN to be compatible with a majority of systems.

dont mean to be a nail sticking out -- im just saying my oppinion, sorry if you think im wrong.
