Sage2050 Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 in the bios it doesnt go any lower, but i want to see the absolute minimum i can cool my CPU to. in other words, as soon as i hit 25C, my CPU fan shuts off, only to turn back on a second later when the temp goes up to 26C. red930 Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 You can't go any lower than the room temp. Until they make a change(if it can even be done) in the BIOS the 25C cutoff is all there is. I get a kick out of the Blue LED on my fan. With the window, it's an obvious indicator of the fan status. When the room temp is just right, the fan will cycle on and off like a very slow heartbeat. Kinda cool!
Angry_Games Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 yep this is normal. there's no way to keep it off below 25C as far as i know
jimboballen Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 The obvious answer to this would be a fan controller... Then you control the fan independent of the BIOS. You can get anything from a drivebay mounted sorta thing with knobs on the front or a simple 1 or 2 fan job with the knobs mounted on a pci slot bracket. -JBA
Sharp Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Hello, If you go in windows and install the ITE smart guardian then press on options. For each FAN choose software programmable mode Move the slider and press ok and it will say on. But it will only apply to windows. You could plug the CPU fan in header 4 and the chipset fan in header 5.
