CSS Junkie Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 I've been experiencing some jerkyness in my game play lately. It hadn't always done that but just started recently. I'm not sure if this could be due to the fact that my ram sucks, but just in case, I was wondering if i could try some different gpu drivers. Right now i'm using nvidia's latest drivers. I tried omega, but the graphics weren't as good with those, and I still got the jerkyness. I was wondering if there were any other drivers you guys could recommend.
danny5 Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 You need to give more details, afterall, you dont have the best graphics card available, and you dont tell what game or resulution, or settings you are using it at. I am not a graphics expert, but atleast I know enough to give those details.
CSS Junkie Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Well, like I said. This hasn't been happening since I bought the card. And I've kept my graphics settings the same. I'm aware it's not the best card out, but it's not a bad one either, and there is no reason for it to do this. I've also tried it under extremely low settings which give me framerates over 180, and it still does it. The whole purpose of the thread was to just get an idea of what other drivers are out there that I could try. If I don't get it fixed it's not a huge deal, cause I'm buying 2 bfg 6800ultras soon. But please someone I'd like to know what other drivers I could try.
chenid0 Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 You still should give settings. Its quite possible its due to oc'ing ur vid card too high. try lowering to stock and see if it persists.

Shinobi Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Experiment CSS, thats the best way to find out what are the best drivers for your card imo. Test a few out. Different ppl will generally have differing opinions. www.guru3d.com is a very good place for drivers, official, beta or modded... For a start, why don't you give the 76.50 Betas a try, one or two ppl i know have tried them and think they are ok For 64 Bit OS' then theres the 76.71's I've still got a crappy FX5600 and use the 71.50's myself. Oh, and if you aren't using it already, Driver Cleaner pro is a very good utility for removing the last traces of old drivers after you've uninstalled them. Smoken Joe Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Strangly enough the drivers that came on the on the XFX CD are the fastest so far. I switch between them and the omega drivers at driver haven. Are you memtest stable? That could be the problem as well as the HD being fragmented. Try looser timings 2.5 4 4 8 if you are not memtest stable.
