TommyG Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 So I got my new computer up and running (specs below) and all was good even without any overclocking. However, Halflife 2 was causing my system to crash. It would make a bit of a noise and then freeze and require a reboot. Turning off the Audio (AC'97) in the bios solved the problem, but obviously now I have no sound. I have all the latest drivers from nVidia and Realtek. Anyone having similar issues? Thanks t
Sharp Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Hello, Make sure you have completely unistalled the Realtek drivers, (enable it in the BIOS and uninstall it in windows/restart) Then use the nVidia drivers http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_winxp2k_6.53 The nvidia Audio drivers are so much better. Why is the memory not in slots 2 and 4?

Why is the memory not in slots 2 and 4? I'll try that with the drivers. The slots issue is a little strange I admit. My memory is in the orange slots, but for some reason in Everest it refers to them as being in Dimm3 and Dimm4/Mermory Modules in A2 and A3. It seems strange.... I have no clue??? Sharp Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Mine is like that too, it is ok. I thought you meant you actually put it in 3/4.
