well, I am on a tight budget, so I would really like to go with the 420w. At the moment, all it will have to support is 1 hard drive, mobo, cpu, 1 cd-rw, and a 6600gt.

Do you guys really think that the 420w PSU will give me problems?

I was on a budget to until I bought the Ultra-D without doing proper research. I'm seeing that my build will be pushed out til mid summer. I've had to throw the word BUDGET out the window, and buy one piece at a time to make my rig more affordable. It allows me to spread the cost out over time.

Rezag1000,

I have this very supply...the side of the psu reads 15A on rail 1 and 14A on the other..I cannot say for sure at this point in time but...I (and others) suspect it may be the cause of my no boot w/ATI 9800 problem. do a search and read my "adequate power supply thread" Rgone is testing my 9800 in his rig to eliminate the possibility of this power supply not cutting the mustard. stay tuned

No.

Come again?

Powerstream/Modstream psu's are the best you can get atm =/

(and I blew up an enermax already)

(no offence intended ofcourse)

They're not only more stabile, they're also a lot more silent ..

And them cables are really neat :)

Iam not talking about the quality of the OCZ power supplys. If you look in my sig you will see iam using a Powerstream 520.Iam talking about the size, with a NF4 motherboard and a GT VCard a 420W or 450W PS is going to give you the best performance. You buy what you want, myself and others are just giving there advice & OP.

the 6600 gt dosen't even have a additional power connector. It gets all its power from the PCI-E port.

All the hardware the PSU will have to support for now is:

AMD 3200+

512 MB OCZ RAM

6600 GT

DFI-nForce 4 ultra-d

80 GB sata HD

samsung cd-rw

I would think a modstream is enough.
