bill941 Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 I just picked up a ultra d today and have nothing but problems..I believe it's ram but I am not sure.here are my specs Dfi ultra D thermaltake 480 psu (20 pin but comes with 24 pin convert) X800xl ocz high performance ddr 400 rev2 512 meg listed timmings 2,3,3,6 ocz high performance ddr 400 rev3 512 meg listed timmings 2.5,3,3,6 amd 90nm 3000+ Now more for the problem if I just put the rev 2 stick of ram it works fine.If I put in the rev 3 stick i get alot of short beeps I have to keep pushing the power button and it will boot no memtest errors with either stick. Now if I put both sticks in forget it any suggestions on what to do?

Frallan Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Insufficient power supply.........weak +12V rail. Get a Blue Storm. Well its a bit early to go that far but it is a solid advice anyway. Put the Spec in your sig please so we have an easier way of finding it. Do U get the system up and running if u use just 1 Stick. Have U got all memory settings on auto? What BIOS are U using? And last have U got a 24 pin real PSU somwhere U can boprrow just to try?
bill941 Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Sadly I don't have a 24 pin psu laying around to test....that being said I checked the voltage rails they seem ok they are not moving around and they are above what's needed.as far as using one stick of memory yes it boots every time with the Rev2 chip just fine if I take that out try just the rev3 chip it will boot like every three times or so. bill941 Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 forgot to answer a few things I have the memory set to spec 2.5,3,3,6 rest to auto with 3/10 bios (offical)
bill941 Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 another update what it seems to do with just the rev3 chip since the rev2 chip works perfectly it gives me two beeps then it boots. Does anyone know what the two beeps mean?
