Sage2050 Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 i'm using RGone's voltages (not ram setup, got memory errors on boot up every time with those) and the most i can get out of my cpu is 207x10. wtf is up with this? ive seem people clocking up to 270+ on the 3200, but i'm stuck below 210. RyderOCZ Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Hi Sage2050, Try setting the ram to run at a divider for now to see how high the CPU will clock. If you are running 1:1 then your ram may be holding you back. What timings are you trying to run at 210 for the ram, and what voltage to the CPU ? Sage2050 Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 ram timings are 2-3-3-7, CPU voltage is 1.576. how would i go about setting the ram to run at a divider?
RyderOCZ Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Try using 2.5-3-3-7 or 3-3-3-7 to see if it will clock higher The divider is the first item in the DRAM config of the Genie bios....set it to 180 or
Adamantine Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 You might need a couple more bumps in voltage on the ram if you're only using 2.6-2.7v.
Sage2050 Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 my ram came default at 2.5-3-3-7 and i still couldn't clock past 207. i'll try raising the voltage a bit, but could it possible be a PSU problem?
Sage2050 Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 ram timings are 2-3-3-7, CPU voltage is 1.576. how would i go about setting the ram to run at a divider? shouldnt that always be set at 1:1? i'm under the impression that anything other than 1:1 will corrupt my bios. UPDATE: i just set my RAM voltage to 2.9 (for some reason if i let that window in the BIOS scroll down, even once, it would reset to 2.6) and pushed FSB up to 210. i at least made it past windows boot this time, but my whole comp froze when i tried to open firefox. i clocked back down to 207 and got some unforseen memory errors, but this was cleared up by reloading my saved bios (weird, cause they were the exact same thing). a friend of mine thinks it may be a PSU problem, and i'm starting to lean taht way myself. i may just have to pick up a Fortron BlueStorm. Sharp Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Hello, I believe it is your PSU too. 400W is not enough.
Fryrice Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Ok I have a simliar setup like you. Do this" 1) CPU volt at 1.5 AND Raise the Volt % to 110% = 1.5 x 1.1 =1.65v 2) Download the newest Beta Bios on DFI site..version 415, this will let you raise ram volts to 3.10v 3) Put ur LDTs on Auto and your Htt on x4
drewski Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 shouldnt that always be set at 1:1? i'm under the impression that anything other than 1:1 will corrupt my bios. you're under a false impression. also, here's some testing on how it could improve your performance if it enables you to tighten your timings (not be multiplied too low) http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.as...0&enterthread=y but anyways, i say take RyderOCZ's advice. lower that memory divider (like to 100 ), loosen your memory timings, and see if you can go over 210. oh, and have you run MemTest at all? Sage2050 Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 no, i havent run memtest at all. i'll try lowering my divider (133?) and change some voltages around and post back here. is there any way to flash new bios without a floppy? i have no blanks, and for some reason i keep getting erros when trying to format. Sage2050 Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 alright, im almost positive its a PSU problem now. i tried raising my voltages to CPU Startup - 1.5 CPU VID - 1.5 CPU VID Special Control - 110% LDT - 1.4 Chipset - 1.8 DRAM - 2.9 this resulted in a corrupted bios.
