sirfergy Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Does anyone know of a front panel USB/Firewire device that uses the motherboards headers instead of running cables to plug into the back ports?
mikesm Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 The Antec P160 case has a builtin set of connectors like this that works great for me, but I also have a Soyo Bayone 3.5 in front panel that also plugs directly into the motherboard 1394 and USB jacks, and includes a flash reader. Thanks, Mike
sirfergy Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Yeah, I know cases can do that but I don't want to buy a new case just to get front USB and Firewire. Thanks for the tip about the BayOne 3.5.
spdiscus Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 FrontX makes different mounts, I think. Google that.
Alexia Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 FrontX makes different mounts, I think. Google that. Yes, but overly expensive. Aerocool makes a nice panel that has all the great features, but uses the same run the cables to the back of the case thing. http://www.aerocool.us/peripheral/coolpanel/coolpanel.htm I have been searching for the individual cables to use instead. I know FrontX makes them, but there is NO WAY I would pay $6 for a freaking $0.25 cable.
