TommyG Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Hi guys, 1. Just wondering, I have the stats below, which include the pci-e version of the 6600GT. In the AwardBios PnP/PCI Config, I have the option of PCI Slot or PCIEx for "Init Display First". I have no clue what this refers to, but default optimized set it at PCI Slot. Does anyone know what this is for and if my setting is correct? 2. Also, I am presently not overclocking. Does having the PCI Express Relative items "Maximum Payload Size" (on the same page) at 4096 make a difference here? Angry mentions to change it the the memory of the video board, but I don't know if this appropriate in a non-overclocking situation or not. What does this do and should I change it to 128? 3. Under Advanced Chipset Features, should System Bios Cacheable be disabled? Thanks! T
RyderOCZ Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Hi Tommy, 1. Set to PCI, in case you ever have to use a PCI card for testing....this just tells the bios where to look first for Video 2. No, leave it at 4096, that has to do with the amount of data the PCI-e bus moves. (someone can correct me if I have the wrong definition) but I am pretty sure you want to leave it at 4096, mine is and works flawlessly 3. Disabled Hope that helps

drewski Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 #1. won't matter unless you've got a PCI vid-card. that said, i have mine set to PCI-e. #2. i'm not sure what the payload size is, but manual says it's in Bytes, not MB. i've left it at the default and you can see my OC in my signature. maybe it's holding me back, but i haven't experimented with it. #3. leave it disabled. Angry_Games Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 1. PCI-E first if you have a PCI-E card...otherwise PCI first (doesnt really matter though...but its good the be thorough) 2. Rgone and I thought at first this was important, but i have been able to overclock like a crazyman at 4096 settings, so it has absolutely nothing to do with anything like we were thinking (AGP Aperature Size like on the old boards). Leave it at 4096. It hasn't affected my overclocking, and shouldn't affect yours at all either. 3. disabled: http://www.angrygames.com/sli-dr_1.htm http://www.angrygames.com/nf4_ultra-x1.htm http://www.angrygames.com/nf4-bios1.htm
