Carnajo Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Hey guys, just found this little tid-bit Here at VR-Zone. Seems as though it may be possible for our little DFI 875P-T's to support Dual Core Intels! I hope this is true for our board and that DFI does release a BIOS for us
MikeyLikesItSI Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 With the numerous mosfets and power circuitry, the board sure LOOKS like it could handle it. I'd love to see it happen.

BigStan Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Link? TomsHW OCd one to 4.0g http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/20050405/pentium_d-07.html
MikeyLikesItSI Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 i was curious if ford had a link of it being clocked to 4GHZ on the 875P-T, or if he was just speculating
red930 Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 The board Tom's had was 955X based. That DDR2 stuff they used to test it has some serious sucky timings.
BigStan Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 He is just speculating. That article he linked to was short on details. But you have to think, what 875 mobo did they put that dual core LGA775 on to prove that a dual core will run on an 875 chipset?? How many 875 LGA 775 mobos are on the market? /edit - well I guess they could have tried a 865 chipset mobo. and jumped to the conclusoin that it would run on 875 also. MikeyLikesItSI Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 or it could have never happened, and they are just figuring since they introduced the LGA775 socket to 875/865, why not dual core as well. I can't help but feel that the pin outs on the CPU will be much different, hence the reason why 915/925 boards are out of the question. Guess we can't do nuttin but sit around and wait
