Help With New Build USB Case Connector

Recommended Posts

There are two cables coming from the front of my Antec case. One's for USB and the other is for IEEE.

How do I tell them apart? They are not marked but one has more wires than the other.

Thanks

Space Cowboy sometimes on the outer wrap of the cable it says what its for.Mine clearly says IEEE 1394 on the cable. The iner wires are, green(TPB) Blue(TPA)

RED(TPB*) Orange(TPA*) Black(VG) White(VP).

This is the color and code on each inner cable for the IEEE 1394 cable, and if iam not mistaking they are all the same on all cases.

USB wires are Red, White, Green, and Black (sometimes double black grounds).

as Prostock62 says, the Firewire throws in a Blue and Orange one.

you can't go by how many wire there are, since sometimes it's a double USB and so has 8-10 wires.
