pc2100 or pc2700

Recommended Posts

To the human eye you wouldn't see any difference, the benchmark scores are a little higher for the 2700. Is it worth it, personally I doubt it. But if you want that cutting edge speed then 2700 may be for you. :D

just thought i would add one more thing to this..

it is my understanding that JEDEC (the organization that is responsible for creating memory standards, such as pc100 and pc2100) has -not- created a standard for any memory speed greater than pc2100.  in other words, if you buy memory rated at pc2700 or pc3000 or pc4,152 you are just getting the standardized pc2100 overclocked, and not actually getting a better chip.

now this would be all well and groovie, until you try to overclock it any further, and until the day they actually do create the standard and your chips don't match it.

just a thought..

Buuuuut... Since its not standerized yet, mr. mastermind, it Will run faster, and will make your games, appz.. and all dat other good stuff more spedier.. and Give you better bench marking scores...

and when the time comes, and DDR333 is Standerd.. and these chips are unstable.. We will all just get new Memory.. Because by then.. there will be DDR 800 Out.. and it will just be DDR333 overclocked LOL.. so no matter what, there is always going to be Overclocked ram on the market.. and it will all run Faster...

yeah...

:)
