Using external firewall with nVidia onboard firewall

Recommended Posts

Hi all...I'll be setting up an LP nf3 250gb over the weekend and I have lots of questions. Rather than ask a ton of questions in one post I'm gonna break em' up and flood this forum with everything from RAID 0 to memory to OC'ing.... :D

I'm running Norton AV2005 with nVidia Firewall enabled with an MSI K8N neo (which is going to be returned...69.00 dollar POS, should have known better)...So far as that goes it seems to be working fine. I'll have a netgear firewall around for other systems but should I just run the external firewall and not mess with the onboard one that comes with the LP?

Thanks in advance!

NVidia firewall has excellent results till now, for me, and has a lot of work done

You can keep the external firewall but you don't need it anymore. Just set up well your NVidia...

1.) I thought the nf3 didn't have the nv firewall? NF4 only?

2.) even if you leave it on, it wont hurt. I'm using it, with a hw firewall to, not a single problem.
