bass_freak Posted January 28, 2002 Posted January 28, 2002 DDR runs at a faster clock speed and is not that much money. Your best bet would be to get the DDR so you can run at 266 bus instead of a 133. DDR is gona be around for a while, Pentium is switching to DDR and getting rid of the RAMBus, showing that it must be rather stable and probly the new type of ram to stay while. Guest flakman Posted January 28, 2002 Posted January 28, 2002 I agree w/ bass/.. get ddr so you can use it in the future. I would highly recommend checking ram/mb sites to confirm compatability before you purchase. The new iwill xp333 will run 2700 and 3000 ddr. There is supposed to be 3300 soon.......pretty fast, i do say!!!!! Get the memory sooner than later as prices are rising quickly. Espn83 Posted February 1, 2002 Posted February 1, 2002 I agree with Bass. Go DDR. Its not that much more expensive, has a higher clock speed, and will be around longer than pc133.
Freaky Posted February 1, 2002 Posted February 1, 2002 first of all, DDR is better as bass said, but you shouldnt risk getting DDR now, cause second you get your board, boom, your gonna be behind, the new DDR standard is gonna be out like, in a few days, hours, never know..... as said, the IWILL XP333 is comming out, and its best to wait for that board or another 333 board, and get the new ddr ram with it as well.... cause u could get the ddr pc2100 ram, but when you plug it into a xp333 board, thats what it runs at, 2100, and you loose speed...... wait for the board and the pc3000 ddr memory before you go for the upgrade to ddr. lovetotrade Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 just make sure your ram runs at the same clock speed as your processor
