tRAS at 6 or 7?

Huh, well what can I say if some one like you is doing it then I guess I must be wrong. I wonder if this is caused because the memory controller is on-die now? That document from mushkin must be fundamentally wrong somehow because if the RAM is only 'open for read' as long as tRAS then with it set to 0 you can't use the ram, period.

 

Maybe if you set it too low the CPU overrides it somehow? Since the controller is on-die now maybe it gets to ignore you from time to time. Do apps like memtest86 report it as 00 if you set it to that? I'm still afraid to try.

I thought it was real odd in the begining also.. but I saw others using it so I tried.

 

Im not sure of why it works with a64's.. but its not like I can use 2,3 or 4..lol.. as odd as it is 00 works well and does give a little boost in BW..

 

I know Rabbi was using it for a while also.. but then he found 8 gives UTT based ram a few more mhz in overclocking so he uses that now..

personally i find the best to be 9. going down anywhere to 5 gives lower, and 9-11 all give the same. but i find 9 should be better. just test yourself man. like geez it litterally will take you 2 minutes to find out which is better.
