wab Posted June 15, 2003 Posted June 15, 2003 (edited) Hi!, Got me a new asus a7v8x mobo to replace my msi kt4v board. both have a similar ac audio chip and i think that this is my problem : after replacing the board, i got no sound from the default (lime) jack. the rear channel (blue) and center channel (red) work fine... I tried fiddeling with the sound control panel but nothing helps. reinstalling newer or older drivers... still no sound. i inserted an old sb512 to the system so i have some sound, but i guess that's not the way it's supposed to be? and i can't seem to configue the front from the sb and rear from the ac97.. (the sb has no 5.1 capabilities) any suggestions.. ?? or should i replace the board? - again .... EDIT : this problem was bothering me for two weeks before i started this thread. even emailed asus but that didn't help .. anyway, I just solved the problem. according to the manual: .. when you use an frontpanel audio connector two jumpers should be removed. But there were no jumpers to be found on the mobo... hmm.. i do not use such connector so these jumpers should be in place right... i placed two jumpers and it works..
