coolermast realpower 450watt a-pfc

the 'watt meter' reads approx 300 watts usage at load.

not sure how accurate it is tho :D

also had no problems with zalman 400w stability wise, tho did have a very low +12v rail under load (11.39v)

I am using a Aerocool Aeropower II+ 550W 20 pin PSU with a 24 pin adapter.

http://www.overclock.co.uk/customer/produc...productid=17218

This is a brand new build so not 100% sure how good it is yet.

I did have problems at first with installing Win XP Pro with BSOD etc, when i had 2 x 512Mb PC3200 Crucial ram in the 2 orange slots.

This was fixed by swapping that with 2 x 128Mb PC3200 Hynix ram (all I had at the time) and all is sweet so far. :D

I thought this was down to the memory at first, but now I am starting to think maybe the 20 PSU is the problem

I will buy some recommended memory next and see if everything runs OK.

I use a Rosewill RP500. Seems to work just fine so far. Every voltage measurement tool I can find tells me it's very solid. Overclocks are nice and stable. 120mm fan is very quiet. Blue LEDs and chrome finish are real purdy. :P And it was only $50 from the Egg.

I did a lot of research before I bought my Fortron Blue Storm 500. My criteria was based on the order of:

1. power

2. efficiency

3. price.

Based on that criteria, the logical choice was the Fortron. At >70% efficiency it is among the best in the industry.

Why is efficiency so important?

1. Electric bill, this PSU will use less energy than most in its' range.

2. less heat, meaning less power loss and instability under load. And it should last longer.

And at under $90, it is a good bang for the buck.

Complaints? Well the thing makes more noise than my Antex 430 Truepower.

Things I liked: The molex connectors are NICE, easy to pull out of drives and such, just squeeze. The covering on all the seperate wires really made for a neat installation in the case.

I would recommend this PSU, and thank Angry Games for turning me on to it.
